Thank you for sharing your studies. I'm reading Stokers Dracula to my wife as a bedtime story.

Her request - says my voice calms her; I've heard myself on recordings… I dont get it lol

hmm, maybe you should make a podcast?

My voice bores ME, why would I subject others to it? 🤣

lol! We’re never a good judge of how our own voice sounds.

I applaud 👏 your ability to make classic literature feel alive and relevant. That’s a rare gift.

I really enjoyed this post. I share your beliefs and we view past hostorical figires by weighing criticizing their misdeeds but still acknowledging the good deeds.

Thank you! I feel like things have become so polarized. We're led to believe things are always "either/or" but that is a logical fallacy. Frequently, the answer is "both/and."

Bram Stoker had some really racist ideas AND he was a hardworking, devoted, and gregarious friend to many.

He’s kind of similar to HP Lovecraft in that regards

Kind of. Lovecraft was more openly racist, where Stoker was very image conscious and private. There are racist stereotypes in Stoker’s fiction, but he doesn’t apply them in any sort of consistent manner that would imply much intention. The only reason I think he was actually more racist than is publicly known is because I’ve read some of the original documents for some of his non-fiction books like, Personal Reminiscences of Henry Irving.
